Two cyber experts step into new roles
Thielen will report to Elizabeth Geary, president of GRS Insurance Solutions, an organization that builds and delivers solutions for complex emerging global risks.
“Patrick’s strong cyber leadership and expertise make him the ideal candidate for this critical role,” Geary said. “He is responsible for maximizing the value we add to brokers and buyers through a clear risk appetite, consistent global approach and dedicated advisory, underwriting and claims teams.”
GRS also announced the promotion of Jelmer Andela to the newly created role of head of cyber underwriting for Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), its London-based specialty insurer.
In his new role, Andela will lead the execution of GRS’s global cyber strategy across LSM. He will report to both Thielen and Rachel Conran, chief underwriting officer at LSM.
“Jelmer has more than two decades of experience in the insurance market, underwriting across multiple lines of business, and is an exceptional cyber specialist,” Conran said. “That experience enables him to optimize profitability across our cyber portfolio.”
Liberty Mutual also recently announced the appointment of Meg Sutton as chief operating officer for GRS.
