Dog The Bounty Hunter’s co-star David Robinson died in his wife’s arms at 50 after having a ‘stroke or heart attack’ while on a work Zoom call.
His wife Brooke Robinson confirmed that David had passed away at their California home on Wednesday, November 30 via a statement on Facebook.
It read: ‘David was very healthy and was on a work call in our dining room at home when he collapsed. Life-saving maneuvers were attempted and paramedics were called. David died in my arms.’
Brook – who married David back in May – continued:Â Â ‘We ask again for time and space to grieve for the husband, father, brother and friend that was lost.’
Robinson starred alongside Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman in Dog’s Most Wanted, which ran for a single season on WGN in 2019.Â
Robinson’s ex-wife Rainy, who also appeared on the show, confirmed his death to TMZ on Thursday, saying David was on a Zoom call when he had a medical emergency. Police and paramedics’ attempts CPR after arriving at the scene were unsuccessful.
Sources close to Robinson said he appeared to have had a ‘heart attack or stroke’ – but an official cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
However, his current wife Brooke said in her statement: ‘The rumors of a heart attack and stroke have already been ruled out.’Â
Chapman paid tribute to his one-time co-star, saying: ‘I’m shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of David Robinson, my right-hand man of many years. Until we meet again, brother.’

His ex-wife Rainy originally broke the news of David’s death with an Instagram post on Wednesday.
It featured an image of David with a simple caption which read:’11/2/72 – 11/30/22 #Fast156.’
The hashtag seems to be a reference to David’s Twitter handle @Fast1556 though he has not tweeted in nearly three years in addition to his Instagram which is @david_robinson_156.
Back in September 2020, David’s then wife Rainy had announced that they were separating after nearly 25 years of marriage for what she called ‘some very heartbreaking and irrevocable actions.’
The Dog The Bounty Hunter series regular took to social media and explained to her followers what had happened in her union.

‘After nearly 25 years of marriage (9/30/95) and 27 year together, David and I are separating,’ she said. ‘We have had many years of happy times, fun parties, television, businesses, tears and triumphs. We share two beautiful daughters and three adorable grand-daughters.
‘Marriage is difficult and in some cases does not always last; we had a great run and I am proud of the time we’ve spent building a life. We are family and will always love each other as such.’
Rainy, who’s in the bounty hunting business, said that ‘sadly, some very heartbreaking and irrevocable actions were taken which resulted in the end of our marriage’ without delving deeper into detail about the split.

‘I don’t wish to expand any further as this has been a trying few months and I am now focused on my own path toward healing,’ she said, noting she was ‘not interested in re-hashing details as [she’s] committed to moving forward.’
At the time Rainy encouraged their mutual friends to remain as such, as she said she and her estranged spouse ‘remain the very best of friends.’

In the summer of 2019, the estranged couple moved to Merced, California; speaking with the Merced Sun-Star, Rainy said they enjoyed the ‘family and community-centric personality’ of the city, where she set up shop with her business, Jane Bond Surety and Insurance.
‘I knew the moment I drove through here it was home,’ she said. ‘It’s so peaceful, so genuine … we absolutely love it here. I love how non-showy everybody is.
‘In the Bay Area it’s different. It’s big hat, no cattle. Over here, people really don’t care if you drive a nice car. They care about family and a clean, healthy life.’

The series which David and Rainy starred in – Dog’s Most Wanted – had a different premise than Dog’s other shows, centering on hunting fugitives rather than people who had jumped bail.
In the series – which only had one 10-episode season – Dog not only juggled his career but also his wife Beth Chapman’s cancer diagnosis.
Beth passed away after a battle with throat cancer at the age of 51 in Honolulu, Hawaii back in June 2019.Â
Dog has endured a great deal of personal loss over the years as in addition to David and Beth, one of his daughters passed away in an accident 16 years ago.
Barbara Katie was one of Dog’s 12 children, and one of three he shares with third wife Lyssa Rae Brittain.
The 23-year-old was killed in a car accident in her native Fairbanks, Alaska on May 19, 2006.Â
